PROCESS: FEES

Fees
Preliminary Services are normally charged on a time basis and Basic Services on a percentage basis. Other Services are normally charged on a time or lump sum basis.

Principal Types of Fees
1. Percentage Fee, as a percentage of total contract value post construction
2. Lump Sum Fee, as a percentage of estimated contract value
3. Hourly Rates

Interim Payments
Fees and expenses should be paid in instalments either at regular intervals or on completion of work stages of the Basic Services.

Terms of Appointment
This will be established with the following criteria’s

1. Scope of Works
2. Program
3. Quality
4. Fee

Fee Rates
to be clarified with client.

Time rates
The rates for Services to be charged on a time basis shall be calculated and will be provided under a different document. Estimated hours of work will be provided, in order achieve an agreement with the client.

Expenses
Please note that the Fees will not include,

· printing costs
· postage costs
· travelling costs

· specialist cost will be charged directly to the client, unless expertise ids received directly through the designer.

Instalments
Fees and expenses shall be paid by instalments in accordance with an agreed programme:

Site Staff
For Site Staff appointed and paid by the designer and shall be reimbursed as follows:
· on a Time Basis, or
· on a part Annual Salary Cost plus a percentage (salaries to be stated where appropriate)

Interest on overdue accounts
An interest rate will be made payable, on overdue accounts.
