for a Modular Housing for Keyworkers in an aggressive urban
site, between a railway line and a busy road. Environmental
features, photovoltaic louvres, solar thermal panels, on
roof.
Key communal facilities
on ground floor, a cafe Bar, a Laundromat, a Swimming Pool,
and a Gym, in addition a roof garden is provided.
The ground floor is open
to the public, and acts as a a common resource as a compliment
to the "compact" living on offer within the keyworker
modules above. The building is wrapped in a "skin"
consisting of a series of louvres made from compressed "bamboo",
and acts as a solar and acoustic buffer. Photo voltaic cells
are attached to the louvres taking advantage of the southern
orientation.
