Solarcity Masterplan

The masterplan for 5,000 dwellings takes elements found on the site as a starting point, natural features (such as the canal), its constraints ( singular access to the north) and transforms them as an integral part of a complete sustainable strategy. The roads are gently curved to create a subtle variety as well as creating a rich communal experience.

•Our proposal uses the existing canal to create a as an organising device, where the canal becomes a resource, a park is organise around the canal, where activities are introduced such schools, community centre, club building etc.

•The commercial hubs are used as magnets to create a vibrant community, and encourages mini neighbourhoods which minimises the use of cars.

•The project also analysed car use and modelled options to minimise congestion during peak hours

•The radial plan use the path of the sun, and will create roads that will be distinct to create a unique development
